South Australia's 'kings of Asian fusion' will collaborate for one night only serving up the ultimate Asian food experience. In the heart of Chinatown, explore the redeveloped, luxurious Chinatown Plaza. Expect a menu that will delight the tastebuds - bottomless plates await in the buzzing food vendor hub. Try celebrated street food from the Asian nations; drunken prawns, Szechuan dumplings, curry fish balls, roasted duck breast, Xinjiang hand-pulled noodles, Shanghai fried buns, chilli chicken karaage and so much more. Ticket includes all the food you can eat (in your allocated sitting) and one drink from Tomich Wines on arrival. GET
Every LAST Thursday of each month we host a fun karaoke night here at the plaza. So come and join us! You can have dinner and a drink first at the plaza then stay on for Karaoke. We open from 11am till late. Happy Hour between 5 and 7pm. NEXT EVENT
On 11 October as part of RSB World Sight Day celebrations, we were delighted to host The Royal Associations Presidents' Dinner - an annual dinner for SA organisations that hold the Royal charter. This event was one of the first functions held in the newly renovated plaza. Special thanks to Tomich Wines.
Stepping through the doors of the newly renovated Chinatown Plaza I can instantly see that this is not your average humble food hall. Glowing umbrellas, rainbow lanterns and caged chandeliers shine down on a funky communal space filled with a seemingly endless variety of hawker style vendors. Against a backdrop of artistic graffiti the spotless tables and varnished wooden pagodas are filled with customers happily slurping down silky rice noodles and savouring the gluttony of finishing the last morsel of what once was a large plate of freshly steamed dumplings, doused with lashings of soy and chilli. It’s currently having a trial soft open at lunch times between around 11am to 3pm with some food stalls serving food. Closed since August 2016, the revamp has been long awaited. Here’s our first look at the renovated eatery. Basically, it’s nothing like the old food court. The old laminate and fluorescent lighting has been replaced with a modern Asian style with beautiful lighting, lovely green foliage and ornate timber throughout.
